Our Mission

As we plan for our 60th Annual Cochrane Lions Rodeo (September 4th to September 7th), we remain committed to promoting our community and our western way of life, while enriching the lives of those who call Cochrane and the surrounding area home.

Hosted by the Cochrane Lions Club, the Rodeo is a major fundraiser that has contributed over $2,200,000 to deserving local groups. Recognized as the largest amateur rodeo in Western Canada, it is a thrill-packed family event welcoming thousands each year to celebrate our proud western heritage.

Poster Competition

We welcome all Cochrane and area residents to enter our Second Annual Cochrane Lions Rodeo Poster Competition.

Winner featured in local media and Rodeo channels.

Artwork judged by Rodeo Directors with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Top 3 finalists receive prizes and 4 rodeo tickets.

Finalist artwork featured in a public exhibition gallery.

Winning poster professionally digitized and branded.

All artwork and commercial rights donated to the Rodeo.

Competition Rules & Timeline

• One entry per person.
• Portrait designs only.
• Size: 11.7 x 16.5 inches up to 23.4 x 33.1 inches.
• 2D artwork only (digital stylus permitted).
• Sign artwork modestly in bottom corner.
• Leave space for digital name addition.
• Submit by JUNE 15, 2026 via email info@cochranelionsclub.com (titled poster contest) or in person to the Cochrane Lions Event Center, Address 109 5th Ave, Cochrane.
• Exhibition: JUNE 25 TH, 2026 at 7PM.
• Submissions will not be returned.
• 1st place awarded September 6, 2026 in RODEO ARENA.

Prizes

• 1st Place: $1,000 cash, belt buckle, $350 art gift card, 4 rodeo passes, print 1/1, media recognition.
• 2nd Place: $250 art gift card + 4 rodeo passes.
• 3rd Place: $150 art gift card + 4 rodeo passes.
