Sonia is 20 years old and has lived rurally her whole life. She graduated from George McDougall High School with honors and is now working at an equestrian facility and a small spice company, producing products locally and participating in local farmers markets focused on supporting Alberta small businesses.
Sonia was exposed to the western lifestyle through her family, raising beef cattle and riding from a young age. She has ridden in both English and western disciplines, competing in showjumping in her younger years and is now focusing on completing her final Equestrian Canada western rider level, aiming to acquire her riding instructor certification and competing in ranch riding. She is enrolled at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology to complete an agricultural management diploma majoring in agricommerce. She then plans to complete an additional 2 years of study to obtain a bachelor of science in agribusiness.
Sonia loves to be busy and is always looking for opportunities to try something new and to help other people and animals. She is dedicated, hard working and perseveres through whatever challenges life throws her direction.
